Abstract
The introduction of new materials in the cutting processes generates the need for supplementing existing knowledge with new data specific to these materials. By monitoring the machining parameters, information through which these can be optimized is obtained. The aim of the paper is highlighted by the author’s concern for the development of a system for measuring the feed forces and cutting torques for research and educational activities. The proposed measurement system is developed for drilling processes. In this paper, the components of the equipment and their func-tions are presented. The research method is the experimental one. The final part of this research presents some demonstrative tests meant to exemplify the capability of the system, as well as the conclusions drawn and the personal point of view which highlights new fields of research.
