Automated Guided Vehicle Systems (AGVS) are designed to transport objects automatically, efficiently, and safely between locations. In AGVS, vehicles follow a defined route, which is determined taking into account, for example, collisions and deadlocks. To do so, an important part of the operation of AGVS is the examination of the planned routes in order to detect potential problems. The paper demonstrates the application of Colored Petri nets for simulation and analysis of AGVS and for detecting and avoiding deadlocks and collisions.
