Road accidents are reconstructed by forensic experts to reveal the causes of accidents and help authorities determine liability. However, how well an accident is assessable depends on various factors. The database-independent methodology proposed here makes it possible to explore the relationship between assessability, accident type and data recording technology. A combination of statistical tests (Mann–Whitney U Test, Wilcoxon Signed-rank Test, Kruskal–Wallis Test with Bonferroni Correction) are to be applied to a database of road accidents. As a result of these tests, it can be determined how the assessability of various accident types can be improved by the development in data recording technologies. This widely applicable, novel tool of the Cognitive Mobility realm is in practice a methodology for exploring the assessability of various types of road accidents. It can help decision-makers determine the development directions of new technologies.hu_HU
