Education is an important issue in every country, including Hungary.
Regular PISA surveys show that Hungary is lagging significantly behind in all
competences compared to developed European countries. This study is not intended to find
a solution to this problem, but it is well known that the capital and time invested in
education pay off, albeit slowly. It pays off for both the individual and the national
economy. The educational achievements of Roma children, many of whom live in
disadvantaged settlements, lag further behind those of average Hungarian children. This
study provides an example of how disadvantaged pupils can be specially motivated and
how their learning can be promoted with the help of robots.
