Abstract
In this paper, we present an improved Fault-Tolerant Control (FTC) for an Induction Motor (IM) system associated with a robust sensor Fault Detection and Isolation (FDI) filter based on the robust μ-synthesis technique. The proposed approach is founded on the implementation of two robust regulators and a performance indicator obtained using robust analysis tools (the structured singular value μ). The FTC is configured by switching between these two regulators, one ensures IM operation for a multiplicative fault and the other for additive faults. The indicator permits the extraction of the optimal FDI/FTC pair for a given application and set of specifications. Simulations of the FDI and FTC schemes of the induction motor are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
