Mobile health – on overwiew

Abstract

This article aims to provide an overview of the mhealth applications. They are getting more popular lately due to their potential to make professional and preventive healthcare more convenient, personalized and cost effective. This trend is supported by the growing number of users who care about health awareness as well. In the paper I describe the importance and forms of mobile health applications. I also mention the datafication trend which explains the value and potential of the data collected from these kind of apps. I also highlight the security and privacy risks and briefly explain how these kind of apps can be used in the current COVID-19 pandemic.
